Capitalizing for urban sustainability
Progamme MED 2007-2013

Urban Empathy is a capitalisation project, co-financed by the ERDF within MED Operational Programme, which aims at promoting the results of twelve previous European territorial cooperation projects regarding a sustainable urban development. In the Mediterranean area, tools and pre-existing good practises were promoted, assessed and shared, afterwards they were presented to administrators, policy makers and technicians so that they could be used to develop efficient policies for the urban sustainability. The results of this 2007-2013 phase are very useful now for the management of “Europe 2020” founds. The Province of Lucca decided to focus on Teenergy project, so guidelines were created to identify structural and behavioural solutions to develop energy efficiency in schools. Thanks to this project, it was possible to work together with other European subjects interested in the energy efficiency of public buildings in general, expanding the knowledge of politicians and technicians on the issue and enlarging the network of possible European partners for future cooperation projects.
